The semi finals spots for the ATP Finals 2024 are almost fixed as World number 2 Alexander Zverev makes it through to the semi finals after a straight win over Carlos Alcaraz. However, the loss suffered by the Spaniard has made his chances even more tougher with low poor games win/loss ratio.
The ATP Finals will be coming to an end in just a couple of days and with the semi final positions almost filled. This will be the end of the ATP season and we all will be looking forward to seeing who will be the one to take home the final trophy of the year this season. Zverev qualifies while Carlos's chances look slim
The match between Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz started off in thrilling fashion but in the end the German was the one dominating the crucial moments of the match and secures a place in the semi finals with a straight win over the 4-time Grand Slam winner. With this Zverev remains unbeaten in the John Newcombe group and makes it to the semi finals, but with the straight loss Carlos's chances look even slimmer going forward. Though it is still mathematically possible for him to make it through to the playoffs the chances are still very slim.
The hopes of Alcaraz will be on Andrey Rublev who will be up against Ruud, but even if the Norwegian loses in straight sets, the games win and loss ratio of Alcaraz is still very low making the chances close to impossible. It is safe to that it will be Casper Ruud who will be making it to the semi finals from the Newcombe group. Though we still have to give props to Alcaraz for playing while not being in the best of health it seems like his ATP Finals journey has more or less come to an end.
