Harmanpreet Singh received the prestigeous 'Hero of the Tournament' award for his great show in the recently concluded Asian Champions Trophy 2024. The Indian captain was all smiles as he had two reasons to celebrate. Sarpanch sahab played a key role in India defending its title in a dominant way by beating China in the final in their own backyard.
Harmanpreet had a contribution to India's wins in almost all games one or the other way. In the tournament, the star player led from the front by scoring the highest goals for his team. He was the second highest goal scorer in the tournament. Singh scored a total of 7 goals with an asisst in the final.

His best performance probably came in the game against Pakistan. Singh converted two penalty corners into goals and ensured that India beat Pakistan 4-1 in the semifinal to proceed to the final. His passes were accurate throughout the tournament and one of the most important of them was in the final.

With a little under 10 minutes left to play in the final, the match had not witnessed a goal. It was Singh who made inroads into the circle and provided a good assist to Jugraj Singh. The latter made no mistake and coverted the chance into a goal. It helped India to defend the title.
Harman bagged the 'Hero of the Tournament' award before getting hold of the trophy. He took to social media and shared the image with a message for the fans. "Proud to reclaim the #AsianChampionsTrophy after a hard-fought Final in China. Thank you to fans for constant support and also a special thanks to our heroes behind the scenes - the coaches and support staff! Jai Hind!" wrote Harmanpreet Singh on X.
Yang Jihun of Korea ended the tournament as the leading goal scorer with 9 goals to his name. Kim Jaehan won theย Promising Goalkeeper of the Tournament award. Wang Caiyu of China won the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament award. Hanan Shahid of Pakistan won the Rising Star of the Tournament award.
