PV Sindhu set to tie the knot after winning Syed Modi International tournament (Source: X)
PV Sindhu is all set to enter her married life as she will be tying the knot with Venkata Datta Sai from Hyderabad. The Indian Badminton star will marry Sai on the 22nd of December, which is likely to be a destination wedding in Udaipur. It is a happy few weeks for Sindhu following ending her title drought by winning the Syed Modi International tournament.
PV Ramana, PV Sindhu's father, confirmed that the decision to have the wedding on the 22nd of December, just a few days before the start of a new year, has been a result of his daughter's schedule. PV Sindhu will have a hectic Badminton schedule in 2025 right from January. Soon after her wedding, Sindhu will hit the court for the practice sessions.
The wedding is set to take place from the 20th to the 24th of December. While the wedding will take place on the 22nd, a reception will take place on the 24th in Hyderabad. Venkata is said to be good in academics. He is regarded as possessing entrepreneurial qualities.
'It was the only possible window' - PV Sindhu's father
Sai has experience working with the IPL teams as per his LinkedIn bio. Datta has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Accounting and Finance and a Diploma in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the FLAME University. He worked in JSW in the past.
Sindhu's father explained the challenges that arrived to confirm the wedding dates. He said the wedding was on the plan for some time but could not take place due to fixed schedules. He confirmed that the two families spoke together and came up with the December 20-24 window as the only possible time for their wedding.
Venkata confirmed that Sindhu will resume training in January soon after her wedding rituals end. He felt the upcoming 2025 season would be crucial for Sindhu's career. "The two families decided on this date as it was the only possible window. Sindhu will resume training soon after the festivities, as the next season is crucial," said Sindhu's father.
