An ugly brawl broke out between the Indian and Pakistani players during the match between the two teams in the Asian Champions Trophy 2024. The Pakistani players initiated the brawl as they tried to get under the skin of the Indian players. The attempt went in vain as the Indian players held on to their composure and closed out the game with a win of 2-1.

With just 10 minutes left in the match, Pakistani players sensed that the Asian Champions Trophy game was slipping out of their hands. They tried to stare the Indian players down. Just when things seemed to escalate between the two sides, players from both the sides and the referee intervened to calm the things down.

The duo of Rajkumar and Vivek intervened and stopped things from getting serious. The Indian skipper Harmanpreet Singh then came to see what the issue was. He took care of the Indian players and asked the referee to look into the issue. A warning was given to the Pakistani player.

Nilakanta Sharma stresses the need to improve

Waheed Rana, who initiated the brawl, received a yellow card and was barred from the game for the rest of the game. Jugraj Singh was the one who was at the receiving end. India got the advantage in the last quarter. India controlled most of it as Pakistan got the yellow card.

In the last two minutes of the game, there was an even play as India got a yellow card. Manpreet Singh stayed out of the game and Pakistan tried to capitalize on it. But India tightened the defensive unit and ensured no further damage was done on them.

After the match, Nilakanta Sharma accapted the fact that Pakistan gave a run for their money and there was a need for improvement in the upcoming games."Pakistan gave us a wonderful fight. Although we won the match, we were not happy because we kept losing the ball and it got us in trouble, so we need to improve," said Nilakamta.
