Indian men's and women's teams entered the semifinal of the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 without breaking a sweat. Both teams continued their unbeaten run in the tournament by overcoming Sri Lanka 100-40 and Bangladesh 109-16 respectively. Both men's and women's teams will be facing the tough challenge of South Africa in their semifinal matches in New Delhi.
The Indian men's team continued its unbeaten run with a big win against Sri Lanka. Skipper Pratik Waikar, Ramji Kashyap, and Aditya Ganpule starred for India with the attack. The tone was set well for the win as India claimed a whopping 58 points in the very first turn of the match and did not allow SL to claim a point.
Aditya and Aniket Pole defended well and SL had to work hard for their points. Despite the tough challenge, the Lankan attackers posted a tough challenge. But it was not enough as India had a huge lead in their Turn 1. With the momentum on their back, Indian attackers scored 100 points.
Indian men's and women's teams to face South Africa in Kho Kho World Cup 2025 semifinals
SL managed to claim 40 points and lost by a margin of 60 points. India won their fifth match in a row in the tournament. They will be taking on South Africa in the semifinal. On the other hand, the Indian women's team continued their insane run in the ongoing tournament by beating Bangladesh 109-16.
Indian women have not conceded even 20 points in any of their matches. Nasreen Shaikh and Priyanka Ingle starred for India in their attack with supporting roles from Ashwini Shinde, and Reshma Rathod. Right from the first turn, Indian women dominated the match.
Indian women gave their opponents absolutely no chance in any of the turn. Ingle and Co. attacked brilliantly and defended even well. They had a one-sided contest as expected and stormed into the semifinal. Their dominant run will be challenged by South African women in New Delhi who have been as dominant and beat Kenya in their quarterfinal match.
