Hardik Singh and Amit Rohidas bagged high prices at the Hockey India League auction 2024. The star players were bought for prices of INR 70 and 48 lakhs respectively. While Hardik will be playing for UP Rudras, Amit will be the face of the Tamil Nadu Dragons. Hardik was the third costliest buy at the auctions among the Indian players.
Amit Rohidas was probably the best Indian defensive player available at the auctions. There was a visible contention among many teams to try and buy him. Eventually, it was the South Indian franchise that got hold of the star defender. He would be hoping to gain a lot of experience and fanbase playing for Tamil Nadu Dragons.
Amit was a key defender in the Indian team at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. The star player was missed when he had to, unfortunately, vacate the field midway through the game against Great Britain in the Quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics. Even in the semifinal, he missed out on playing due to a ban.

His presence was felt in the game against Spain where India was back to its defensive best. Apart from his defence, Amit can step up to score goals as well. His buy could be a big deal in the context of the auction. Hardik Singh was one of the big names available at the auctions.
No wonder the star player was sold for a high price. He was bought at a price of INR 70 lakhs by UP Rudras. He could well lead his team given his leadership skills. Hardik might also act as the star player who can pull the fans to watch him.
Hardik was recently in the news for his comments on the lack of attention the Hockey players got compared to Dolly Chaiwala. He was a key player for India in their Bronze Medal Winning campaign at the Paris Olympics. The talented player won the Emerging Player of the Year award last year.
