Athletes have been highly disappointed by the mess in the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Delhi following the record-breaking 2-day concert of Diljit Dosanjh. While the event turned out to be a massive success, the aftermath of it has not been good, especially for the athletes who have to train themselves for the Junior National Championships and other tournaments.

Punjab FC is set to host Chennaiyin FC in the ISL match at the venue on the 1st of November. An official related to the match claimed that the hurdles used by the athletes had been damaged. Some of the other sports equipments were randomly thrown to arrange the stage and seats for the event.

He claimed that the stadium had to be closed for an entire day. The athlete alleged that some equipments were broken and thrown everywhere.

'Athletics equipment has been broken and thrown to the side' - Asian Gold medalist

"This is where athletes train but here people had alcohol and partied. For this, the stadium was closed off until yesterday. Athletics equipment has been broken and thrown to the side," claimed Beant. He asserted the fact that the young athletes have been unable to train for the Junior National Championship which is less than a month ago from starting.

"Many of the athletes here have their junior National championships in 20-25 days but they have been unable to train in this time," added Beant on social media. The tracks were soaked in liquid and some of the athletes reportedly resorted to cleaning the stadium themselves due to the lack of progress.

Beant said that the athletes are not respected enough in India. He felt when the Olympics took place, the fans asked for the athletes to deliver medals while they could not practice well in conditions like it. The fans came in support of the athletes and blamed the stadium authority for the mismanagement.
