‘WrestleMania season started early’ proclaims Cody Rhodes after successful WWE Bad Blood event

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently spoke to Manchester Evening News. His next match is against Gunther during the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. Bad Blood 2024 was an action-packed event. CM Punk beat Drew McIntyre in an action-packed Hell in a Cell event which saw both the men bleed. 

Cody Rhodes teamed up with Roman Reigns to beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the main event. During the match, Jimmy Uso came out to help Cody and Roman to defeat the Bloodline. At the end of the event, The Rock came out to huge applause from the fans as the road to WrestleMania 41 officially began. 

Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Cody said, “Overall, I did feel very happy about my match at Bad Blood. I was happy for the city of Atlanta, that being the city that raised me. Everything happened and appeared and I was happy for Atlanta and the WWE because it feels like the road to Wrestlemania started early this year.”

The night didn’t end well for the WWE Champion though. Kevin Owens brutally beat up Cody as the latter was heading towards his bus. The entire event viral after a fan posted the beatdown on social media. 

WrestleMania 41 set to be yet another blockbuster affair?

WWE fans finally saw Cody Rhodes finish his story by beating Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40. The bloodline rules match saw the likes of the Uso twins, John Cena, The Rock, and The Undertaker make their presence. In the end, Cody won the bout and held on to the biggest prize in the professional wrestling industry. 

Manchester Evening News asked Cody about the incident with Kevin Owens to which the WWE Champions replied, "I'd be foolish to try and tell you anything different because the entire video exists online and you can see every inch of it. I'll try and keep my remarks short in terms of how I feel but I will tell you this.”

WWE Champ also said, “It's a very passionate industry, everybody wants the north star of our business which is the WWE championship and the championship that I hold at this time. I don't know if you'll see this unfold on screens, on Smackdown, on Raw or when we come overseas.”
