Toni Storm could not believe herself as she pinned Julia Hart to win the Women's Casino Gauntlet match on AEW Dynamite. In the process, she became the number one contender for her former student Mariah May. The AEW Women's Championship will be on the line in Australia's Brisbane on the 15th of February at Grand Slam 2025.
The match featured some of the top stars of the company like Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Julia Hart, Harley Cameron, and a surprising entrant like Megan Bayne. There was no shortage is stardom with Toni being the biggest of them all herself without her knowledge. Toni has been playing the role of an individual with amnesia well.

Hence, her selling the pinfall over Julia was brilliant. It was as if to convey she could not believe her win over a star-studded lineup. Storm was clever in the match as she managed to hang in the middle despite being beaten. When Harley was engaged with fellow stars, she used situation to her advantage.
Mariah May vs Toni Storm at AEW Grand Slam for the world title
Toni reversed Hart and claimed a win via pinfall out of nowhere. Fans let out a loud pop as they were happy with the result. Mariah in the commentary box seemed happy as she imagined a rookie Toni facing her. She will be defending her world title against Storm at AEW Grand Slam on February 15 in Brisbane.
Toni lost her world title to May at AEW 'All In'. Interestingly, it took place in Mariah's home town in London. This time around, Toni will have the back of the fans as the PLE will be taking place in Australia.
The focus of the event would be the match between May and Toni as it will be a rematch of sorts. Mariah pulled the trigger after winning the Owen Hart Tournament as she attacked Toni. Since then, she has been the top heel of the company. She will face her biggest challenge to date to defend the title against babyface Toni.
