Samoa Joe returned to AEW Dynamite and saved Katsuyori Shibata and Hook from the Patriarchy. The star wrestler reunited with Hook and Shibata for the first time in months. Samoa had lost his world title to Swerve Strickland at AEW Dynasty and has been out of action since then. He could be seen with Hook and Shibata in the next few months.
Shibata and Hook have been feuding with the Patriarchy in the last few weeks. With the numbers game to their advantage and a lack of a reckoning force to take on Christian Cage, Hook and Shibata were visibly on the backseat in the feud so far. Samoa's return might've strengthened their will to fight.

Hook and Shibata were attacked on the orders of Christian. Fans did not like it and booed Patriarchy. As the demolition continued, the music of Joe hit. The fans delivered a decent pop as Samoa came down running to the ring. He attacked the members of the Patriarchy without wasting any time.

Joe delivered punches and blows to the faction and Cage wasted no time to escape from the scene. Shibata and Hook were badly done for the night and Samoa extended his arms of support to them. He singlehandedly cleared the arena as the fans chanted "Joe... Joe" to welcome one of their top stars.
The segment went viral on social media with mixed opinions from the fans. While many were happy with the surprising return, the majority were sad by the fact that Samoa did not get the reception he deserved to get. It was the only disappointing aspect of his return.
Samoa was out of action for well over 7 months. After losing his world title to Swerve Strickland at AEW Dynasty, he tried to regain it in the following weeks. As it went in Cain, Joe decided to take a break from the company. Fans missed him a lot and were happy to see him back in action for the first time in months.
