WATCH: Randy Orton takes down Je'Von Evans with an RKO

In the NXT show from October 8th, Randy Orton triumphed against Je'Von Evans. Though it wasn't quite sudden, Orton delivered an RKO to win the bout. 

Orton establishes early control with a side headlock. Je'Von Evans goes for a dropkick, but Orton easily avoids it. Once more, they lock up, and Orton switches to a wrist lock. With an Irish whip, Orton throws Evans into the ropes, but Evans deftly avoids Orton by sliding to the apron and slingshotting back into the ring.

Randy Orton second match in WWE NXT after 2013

With an Irish whip, Orton throws Evans into the ropes, but Evans deftly avoids Orton by sliding to the apron and slingshotting back into the ring. Orton applies a second side headlock as they lock up again. Evans tries to surprise Orton with a springboard cutter, but Orton masterfully dodges it, darting out of the way with a speed that reminds the fans of Samoan agility. During a pause, Orton gives Evans a pat on the head, exacerbating the situation. Orton blocks a kick attempt, but Evans recovers fast and sends Orton tumbling to the ground with a second kick and a dropkick.

Orton gets ready to launch a backdrop driver onto the announce table, but Evans is able to jump over Orton and land on the table, coming back to the apron to kick. Evans dives for the announce table again, but Orton catches him in midair and lands a backdrop driver. Still not done, Orton hits Evans with a third backdrop driver that causes him to bounce excruciatingly off the table. For good measure, Orton gives Evans one more vicious backdrop driver.

When Evans went for his twisting moonsault, Randy Orton attempted to catch him with the RKO, but he just missed. Evans almost takes a tumble with his double-jump cutter, but Orton pulls out just in time. Evans attempts to close things up with a second twisting double-jump senton, but Orton ducks just in time. Orton counters with a well-timed rear-naked choke, pinning Evans for the three count as Evans stands up. Orton has only ever competed in two NXT matches, the latter one occurring in 2013.
