Matt Cardona was announced as Chris Jericho's opponent for tonight's Final Battle on HonorClub's Ring of Honor. Matt Cardona unexpectedly showed up during tonight's HonorClub "TV Time" with Chris Jericho and challenged Jericho to a fight for the Ring of Honor World Championship. When it was announced that The Indy God would face Chris Jericho for the ROH World Title at Final Battle 2024, Matt Cardona made his ROH debut during the December 4th taping of ROH television.
Matt Cardona cut Chris Jericho off in the middle of a TV Time section on Thursday's show where The Learning Tree said they will defend the title against a New York-based challenger. Jericho mistook Cardona for "Zack (Ryder)" when he first came. Reminding Jericho of his identity, the Indy God retorted that he would win the 2024 ROH Final Battle title.

Chris Jericho will provide something different for the match
Matt Cardona has made numerous appearances on All Elite Wrestling over the years, though. Earlier this year, he responded to Adam Copeland's open challenge in his final performance for the business. However, his actual Ring of Honor debut took place tonight.
Following Ricky Starks' exclusion from upcoming appearances at Game Changer Wrestling, with which Cardona has a lengthy history, Cardona made her debut. The Learning Tree participated in a TV Time session led by Jericho. Big Bill was on leave, but Bryan Keith was there. Jericho sent the seven-footer on a journey to the Nepalese mountains to learn the Learning Tree's lessons.
When it came to the opponent for the Final Battle, Jericho wanted to provide the people with something unique. He and Jay Briscoe are examples of great champions who do that. To bring honour to the "Windy City," Jericho sought a New Yorker with a fighter's mindset and warrior attitude. Matt Cardona prevailed in their most recent match, which took place on a March 2016 Monday Night Raw episode.
