WATCH: Throwback to Adam Copeland's AEW debut at WrestleDream 2023

Adam Copeland made his AEW debut at WrestleDream 2023. The star wrestler came to the rescue of Sting and Darby Allin after their main event match against the Patriarchy. It led to the feud between him and the Patriarchy for the next few weeks. Darby and Sting acknowledged his help by offering a shakehand. The fans were happy to see Adam in AEW.

After the main event match of the night, Christian Cage and Co. attacked Darby and Sting. It turned out to be an ugly attack from the faction. Just when Christian tried to smash the duo with a steel chair, lights went off and a small promo was played. In the video, Adam Copeland was seen driving an old model car towards the stadium.

Fans went crazy when the word 'Rated-R' was used in the video. The music of the star wrestler hit and there was a loud pop. Christian was shocked to see his former tag teammate. He kept on looking at Adam to know what he was up to. 

Adam Copeland saves Darby Allin and Sting

Copeland came straight to the ring and took the steel chair from Kalisto's hand. The Patriarchy members thought he was in the arena to join them. Adam gestured as if he was going to hit Allin. Instead, the former WWE Superstar started to smash the members of the Patriarchy.

It forced them to retreat from the scene. Christian gave a long stare on his way back to the locker room. The fans chanted "Holy sh*t" and expressed their approval of the segment. Darby Allin and Sting slowly got on their feet and were surprised to see Adam coming to their help.

Darby offered a shakehand and Copeland accepted it after a few seconds. Sting did the same. In the weeks to come, Copeland would go back and forth with the Patriarchy. He went on to become the TNT Champion and held on to the title for months before getting injured earlier this year to vacate the gold.
