The Genesis pay-per-view was a spectacular way for TNA Wrestling to start 2025. There was quite a show for the throngs of pro wrestling fans at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. The night's main event was a fight for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry. The former champion Dolph Ziggler entered the building, but Joe Hendry wanted to make his 2025 as huge as he could.

Joe Hendry got a standing ovation for his win
After they declared that the pay-per-view was a genuine sold-out event, Ryan Nemeth arrived at ringside with a ticket in hand, despite Santino Marella's ban from ringside. After regaining control of the fight, Nic Nemeth used his tried-and-true move set on Joe Hendry while the supporters applauded the challenger. Hendry continued to fight, even kicking out of a Danger Zone from Nemeth, despite a few near-falls.
When Frankie Kazarian attempted to stop the match, JBL arrived and pushed him away. After stopping Nic Nemeth in his tracks Joe Hendry won the match and went home with the TNA World Title with a standing ovation. Nic Nemeth had a successful career in the WWE.
During the No Mercy 2024 event, Joe Hendry faced Ethan Page for the NXT Title. As 2025 starts AEW fans will have to wait and see what takes place in future for Joe Hendry as TNA World Champion.
