The wrestling rumor mill churned out another subject of debate lately when AEW commentator Jim Ross claimed he believes Shane McMahon joining All Elite Wrestling may work, despite how absurd the concept appears. Speculation then started that McMahon had approached talent within AEW about joining the organization, however, these allegations have since been refuted by individuals within AEW, as well as AEW President Tony Khan, who has allegedly indicated that he has never communicated with McMahon.
According to Wrestling Inc.. "I heard the rumor he might be interested," Khan said. "I've never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW."
McMahon was last seen wrestling at WWE WrestleMania 39 in 2023, where he surprised fans with an impromptu bout against his former nemesis and tag team partner The Miz. Unfortunately, the match never started since McMahon tore his quad muscle during a leapfrog and was quickly replaced by rapper Snoop Dogg, who pinned the former WWE Champion.

McMahon has taken a break from the spotlight to recover from injuries. He may also be avoiding the industry owing to litigation between his father, Vince McMahon, and former WWE employee Janel Grant. Khan also discussed his company's ongoing TV licensing discussions with Warner Bros Discovery, stating that he had a positive connection with CEO David Zaslav.
Most people would assume that McMahon was a WWE lifer because of his familial ties to the corporation. However, several of WWE's most faithful performers, including as Adam Copeland and Paul Wight, have joined Khan's firm, demonstrating that anything is possible.
Fans are excited to watch him battle against Darby Allin, especially given the potential bumps that both guys would be ready to endure to thrill the audience. However, it remains unknown whether McMahon has been medically cleared following his devastating knee injury at WWE WrestleMania 39.
