WATCH: Darby Allin compares AEW and WWE to Slayer and Taylor Swift

Darby Allin was in a podcast recently where he was asked about the comparison between AEW and WWE. The star wrestler claimed that the two companies are totally different in nature. He claimed WWE is like Taylor Swift while AEW is like Slayer whose audience are different. Darby felt WWE sells more tickets like Taylor does, while AEW concentrating on violence.

Darby Allin found music to be the medium to address the matter. He felt comparing WWE and AEW was similar to comparing Taylor Swift and Slayer in the music field. The unique way of comparing was noticed by the fans who had mixed opinions. While some agreed with him, others didn't.

"If people are gonna compare like the two companies, WWE, AEW, I like to put it as like music referencing. So for example, like you can say WWE is the Taylor Swift and AEW is the Slayer," said Allin in the podcast. He said Swift could sell a lot of tickets and added that it didn't mean Slayer couldn't.

'We’re kind of in our own world' - Darby Allin

Darby felt their brand is more intense and violent and felt no need to change anything. He felt there was no need for them to sell huge number of tickets. "Our brand of music is a little bit more intense, violent, but we don’t have to change anything," the AEW Superstar added.

"We don’t have to try to sell the same records as a Taylor Swift, we’re kind of in our own world," Allin felt. The star wrestler felt it was rather meaningful to compare to likely entities with each other, not two unlikely entities with each other.

He said that AEW could be offensive to the fans and cited 'All Out' as the example. Darby concluded saying he would love to offend the people. "And that’s what I like to compare the two things to. You can watch All Out for example and it can be a little offensive to people, but…I live to offend people," Allin concluded.
