Shane McMahon talks after first segment on AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley makes his first appearance since the 2024 Forbidden Door PPV event in the opening portion of AEW Dynamite on August 28, 2024. Moxley informed Tony Schiavon of the following after stating that he needed to speak with Darby Allin. Since Shane McMahon's alleged arrival at AEW, there has been instant conjecture over his possible involvement with Moxley.

Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone welcome us and give a review of Bryan Danielson's huge victory in the AEW World Championship at All In London 2024 to kick off the episode. Then, to address the AEW supporters, Jon Moxley of Blackpool Combat Club descends to the ring.

Standing in the ring, Tony Schiavone remarks that it's fantastic to see Moxley for the first time since AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. When Schiavone inquires about Moxley's well-being, the man replies that he has to take care of a few things. Moxley tells Darby Allin that he won't be difficult to find, adding that he came to Dynamite hoping to speak with a man who is just like him. Allin is then made aware by Moxley that this is no longer his firm.

Nightingale announces her decision to challenge Kris Statlander

“I’m gonna tell you something, I want you to listen to me. It’s going to take some time for everybody to wrap their brains around this, but we’re gonna start right now, okay? Listen to me. This is not your company anymore.”

We then make our way to the rear, where interviews are being conducted with The Conglomeration, FTW Champion HOOK, and CMLL World Women's Champion Willow Nightingale. Tomohiro Ishii, according to Mark Briscoe, is going to take a major shot in the big eight-man tag match, while the rest of the gang will take care of business. Then Nightingale announces her decision to challenge Kris Statlander for the CMLL World Women's Championship in a Chicago street fight at AEW All Out. Then, Ishii leaves before his match, which is about to happen.
