WATCH: CM Punk's altercation with Jack Perry at AEW 'All In' a year ago

On this day last year, CM Punk had a backstage altercation with CM Punk at AEW 'All In'. The incident was unfortunate and had a mixed opinion from the wrestlers. Everything started with a verbal exchange which developed into a physical fight. The video was recorded in the CCTV footage and featured Samoa Joe in it who had no idea what happened.

The reason behind the fight was due to the discussion between the duo over the usage of a real glass for Jack's match against Hook. While Punk wanted Perry to undergo the pain through the use of a real glass, Perry was against the idea. It led to them having verbal exchanges backstage. The incident led to a brawl between the two which was recorded in the CCTV camera.

The security guards had to separate the two from harming each other. Both Perry and CM Punk were suspended from the company indefinitely and an internal investigation took place. Exactly three months after the incident, Punk returned to WWE after more than 9 years. On the other hand, Perry returned to AEW a few months back.

Fans' mixed reactions at AEW 'All In' 2024

Earlier this week, AEW 'All In' returned to London's Wembley Stadium exactly where the incident between the two took place. Perry had a match with Darby Allin. During the match, some sect of the fans chanted "CM Punk" and taunted Perry for the past incident. Some others took a dig at Punk and backed Perry for his actions. Fans looked at the past incident as it completed the 1-year anniversary.

The segment did not gather traction on social media. Tony Khan played the CCTV footage of the incident a few months ago. However, nothing conclusive came out of it. Punk felt AEW played the video to gain nothing. To date, the altercation between Punk and Perry is regarded to be one of the ugliest moments in the history of Pro Wrestling. Many wrestlers have expressed mixed opinions on the incident.
