Ricky Saints wins first major WWE NXT title (Photograph: X)
His WWE NXT debut, Ricky Saints caused quite a stir and has remained in high demand in the weeks that have followed. Saints got his first opportunity to win a title tonight, and he gave it his all by defeating Shawn Spears to claim his first WWE title and take the title of NXT North American Champion. With this win, Ricky Saintshas started a new era.
Spears' gang, The Cullen (Izzi Dame, Brooks Jensen, and Niko Vance), was at the ringside for the fight. Even though Spears had the numbers on his side, he was unable to hold onto his championship as Saints won his first WWE title. Saints had his job cut out for him since Shawn Spears was in his way. Mike Rome was there for ring introductions, which gave the event a big-time vibe. When The Cullen arrived at ringside in an attempt to change the odds, the situation became even more chaotic.

He raced back into the match as the fans rallied behind him. In record time, Saints became the new NXT North American Champion after hitting his finisher and scoring the three-count.
