Jon Moxley recently spoke about the need for AEW to be a success. The AEW World Champion claimed that the consequence of it not being a success means the business would be taken back by 20 years. He felt it was difficult for him and others who he knew to go through such a phase again. Jon felt it was his responsibility to ensure the growth of the company.

"AEW has to be a success. If it’s not, the business gets set back another 20 f*ckin’ years. I’m not willing to go through that again. Others who I’ve known for 15 to 20 years are not willing to go through that again. It’s at the hands of our generation," said Jon Moxley.

Jon has been one of the biggest faces of AEW ever since its formation. He has been one of the reasons why a lot of fans tune into the TV every week and show up in stadiums in big numbers to see him wrestle. Having been a part of the Wrestling fraternity for a long time, he understands business well.

Veterans in AEW

Jon felt the need for him and the rest of the veterans to step up and elevate the company by their might. He recalled the struggles of some of the top Wrestling promotions of the past. It seemed like he wanted to avoid such scenarios with AEW.

AEW has a lot of veterans like Jeff Jarrett, Jon himself, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Christian Cage, Bobby Lashley, and so on. A lot of them are still in the best shape and can attract a lot of fans to watch them wrestle.

Jon himself has been able to gather a lot of hate through the faction of the Blackpool Combat Club. In the babyface part, AEW has to step up as there is a need for someone to address the aggression of the heel factions. A lot of factions like the Elite and the Hurt Business play the part of heels.
