Anna Jay upset Mariah May in the main event of AEW Collision. In the Eliminator, the star wrestler claimed a win over the world champion to earn herself a shot at the world title. After the match, Anna mentioned how she had changed a lot as a wrestler in the last 4-5 years and claimed she deserved to be the world champion.

Mariah May had a great entrance and seemed confident of beating Anna. However, her challenger was equally confident after beating Trish Adora on Rampage. The match between the two turned out to be good. The fans were invested in it and supported Jay. The match involved some very good spots which caught the attention of the fans.

Mariah got Anna Jay to disorient. However, Anna kicked out at two. Anna recovered and delivered a big boot to May's head. She then went a notch above and kicked May. However, the world champion was kicked out at two. Mariah fought her way back into the match.

Anna Jay is confident of beating Mariah May to become world champion

It seemed like the world champion had the momentum on her back. Towards the end moments of the match, May delivered a Head Butt to the challenger. The AEW Women's Champ then went for her finisher only to be countered by Jay. She pinned May all of a sudden to shock everyone.

Anna moved out of the ring and celebrated her win with the fans. The former student of Toni Storm was shocked to the core and returned to the locker room with a frustrated look. When asked about the confidence Anna had in herself, she claimed there was indeed a doubt in her mind with each passing year from 2019.

However, she claimed 2024 has been different for her. Jay said wrestling in Japan helped her big time. She claimed doubting herself and being put in vulnerable situations has helped her become a better version of herself. Jay agreed that she might not have believed her to be a world champion in 2019, which is currently not the case.
