As per a recent source, Ric Flair is not taken into consideration in AEW's creative ideas. November saw the signing of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair to an extended contract with AEW, following his appearance on the October 25, 2023, edition of AEW Dynamite as a special surprise for Sting. During the period of Sting's retirement, Flair frequently made appearances on AEW television.

Ric Flair was widely featured on AEW programming leading up to Sting's retirement match in March, and the 75-year-old even engaged in some violence during the plot. However, after that narrative concluded, Flair's name was not even mentioned. Furthermore, the collaboration between AEW and Flair's Wooo! Energy has expired, which might be tied to the end of Flair's stint since the contract effectively paid for Flair's AEW appearances.

In his final match, Flair intervened during Sting's match at AEW Revolution. Since that time, Flair has not been seen on AEW TV. The WWE Hall of Famer had not featured on AEW television since Revolution when he participated in Sting's farewell in professional wrestling.

In addition to the company's lack of innovative ideas for Flair, it appears that the partnership agreement with Wooooo! Energy Drink has expired. This arrangement paralleled other deals in wrestling history, including WCW's pact with Slim Jim, which enabled Randy Savage to sign without receiving direct cash from the organization. Flair reportedly received compensation from the sponsor rather than AEW.

Ric Flair got criticim from fans

Flair drew a lot of criticism from fans on social media since revelations about his chequered history have come to light in recent years. The most prominent was the episode of Vice TV's "Dark Side of the Ring" that centered on the infamous "Plane Ride from Hell," in which a flight attendant interviewed for the film portrayed Flair as sexually abusive towards her and exposing himself to her and everyone else on the plane.
