Kazuchika Okada successfully defended his AEW Championship on his debut in the PPV event of the company. At AEW Dynasty, the Japanese wrestler put on a show and showed why he was the deserving one to hold the title. Before joining AEW, Okada was a face in the previous company. His stint in NJPW was great and he made a name for himself.
Okada was an IGPW World Heavyweight Champion for a whopping six times. In March 2024, Okada signed a contract with AEW. His stint with the company has seen him as a top heel character. The former NJPW wrestler attacked Eddie Kingston and teamed up with the Young Bucks. So far in his run, Kazuchika has been brilliant both with his character and with the in-ring work.
Okada beat Kingston just two weeks after his AEW debut and claimed his maiden title. On the other hand, PAC has been out of action for a couple of months. In March, he returned to the ring to save Kingston and Penta El Zero Miedo from the hands of Okada and the Young Bucks. It led to the ongoing feud between PAC and The Rainmaker.
Great PPV debut for The Rainmaker
His match against PAC in the AEW Dynasty was good. The Japanese wrestler showed that in long matches he can take down the opponents both with power and wit. PAC was impressive in the ring. But Okada was simply too good for him. He was the favorite to win the match. In the process, he showed the ability to be a main event candidate in the days to come.
Some of the moves from Okada in the match were amazing. His drop kick from out of nowhere was great to watch. Okada countered the German Suplex of PAC and showed his brute strength by delivering one himself. As PAC was about to deliver his finisher, Black Arrow, Okada countered with his finisher Rainmaker Clothesline, and pinned Pac to claim a win. The fans expressed their happiness with the match.
