Alexander-Arnold sustained a minor thigh injury during Liverpool's impressive 4-0 victory against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, leading to young right-back Conor Bradley taking his place in the 70th minute. Fortunately, initial medical assessments have indicated that there is no serious damage, as reported by The Athletic. Liverpool is optimistic that Alexander-Arnold's recovery will be swift, minimising his time away from the pitch.

Slot provided insights on Arnold's availability

In anticipation of Thursday’s League Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham, where Liverpool aims to overcome a 1-0 aggregate deficit, Slot confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will not participate. However, he mentioned the possibility of Alexander-Arnold making a comeback for the FA Cup fourth-round match against Plymouth this weekend.

"He is going to miss tomorrow and we have to see if he can play Sunday but he is not available tomorrow. I think you saw he left the pitch with a bit of a pain in his leg, so that is why he misses tomorrow. He is already on the pitch with the rehab coach; let's see how long it takes." Slot said.

Bradley will take charge in Arnold's absence

With Alexander-Arnold out, Bradley will step up in Liverpool's starting XI. The 21-year-old has already proven himself in crucial matches, having played in the UEFA Champions League against PSV Eindhoven and the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham. Slot believes he can rise to the challenge once more against Spurs.

"He played against Spurs back then too. Every game and session there is something to learn and if not, it wasn't a good session from me," Slot said.

"I think we played PSV a good game with the team who hardly ever played and we did concede three goals. It's something in the feedback we gave. He wasn't involved in every goal but he was in one, in my opinion. He wasn't aggressive enough, which led to the third goal." Slot added.

Liverpool will have to deliver an outstanding performance against Tottenham at Anfield to overturn the first-leg result and secure their spot in the League Cup final.
