Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior to face ban

On Thursday, UEFA announced that an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector is investigating the conduct of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Antonio Rudiger, and Dani Ceballos following Real Madrid’s victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16. Among the incidents under scrutiny is one involving Rudiger, who was captured on video allegedly making a throat-slitting gesture directed at Atletico Madrid fans. Additionally, another viral video on social media seems to show Mbappe making a crotch-grabbing gesture towards the fans.

"We believe everything was correct, and we hope UEFA makes a decision, but we trust that everything will end well," Ancelotti said.

"We are confident in UEFA's verdict as the players had just celebrated. That's it, we wait for a verdict, but our players didn't do anything wrong." Ancelotti added.

UEFA has not provided specific details regarding the incidents currently under investigation. However, reports from Spanish media indicate that Atletico Madrid had filed an official complaint concerning allegations that Real Madrid players taunted their fans, with questionable gestures.

In the meantime, Los Blancos will host Leganes for their La Liga fixture. Real Madrid is still in contention for a treble this season; however, for the time being, they sit second behind leaders Barcelona in the standings.
