This week UEFA Champions League is back with German giants Bayern Munich will take on Celtic in the playoff phase. The first leg will be played at Celtic Park as Bayern Munich will be the travelling team. Bayern Munich will be the favourite to win the game and will lock their place in the Round of 16. This season, Bayern, one of the favourites in the league, has drawn a lot of attention, and supporters have observed something odd about the German powerhouses.

Bayern played four home games at the Allianz Arena during the Champions League league phase, but none of them featured the team's recognizable red uniform. One explanation might be that UEFA is unhappy with the dark letters and numbers on the red uniform, believing that the two colours don't provide enough contrast for spectators and make it hard to read. This is thought to be a breach of the tournament's visibility guidelines.

The Bavarian football team has so far in the 2024–25 Champions League season worn either their black away uniform or a vintage beige shirt with their former club emblem. That is also not anticipated to change in the future. To make their home kit immediately recognizable to supporters, Vincent Kompany's team will need to alter their uniform and replace the black writing and numbers with white to play in Europe once more.

Bayern Munich struggled in UCL group stage

Even though Bayern Munich is dominating in the Bundesliga they found themselves in a struggle in this UEFA Champions League season as Bayern Munich managed to win only five games out of eight. They ended the group phase on the 12th spot making entry into the playoffs phase in the new UCL format. Their biggest win in the group stage came against Dinamo Zagreb as they defeated 9-2. Looking at Bayern Munich's history they will easily win both games and will book their place in Round of 16.
