After reaching a personal agreement to join Giallorossi and declining to speak with Diego Simeone, who was pressing for a transfer to Atletico Madrid, Artem Dovbyk is apparently on the verge of joining Roma. Italy-based reports state that Dovbyk, an international player for Ukraine, has reached a personal terms agreement with Serie A club and is prepared to join Roma.
According to a report on page 32 of Saturday's printed version of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the newest La Liga Pichichi was willing to sign a four-year contract worth €3 million a season plus add-ons. The Giallorossi are said to have sent Girona a bid of €32 million plus €5 million in add-ons at the same time. Dovbyk's €40 million clause is being approached, and Roma is optimistic that the transaction can be completed in 48 hours, according to Gazzetta.
Dovbyk declined to speak with Atletico Madrid manager Simeone on Friday as the Argentinean coach was interested in trying one more time to persuade the attacker, according to Gazzetta and Corsport. In actuality, Atletico has a deal with Girona, but the player's group has not shook hands. The agent of the Girona striker said that, “Atletico Madrid is a great club, but we didn’t see a serious project for Artem there and their offer is significantly lower than other clubs for the league’s top scorer.”
Atletico Madrid hope to sign Chelsea outcast during the summer
Atletico Madrid Madrid is reportedly quite optimistic about acquiring the 24-year-old player from Chelsea during the current transfer window. Gallagher is an attractive option for the La Liga team. The midfield player's contract with Chelsea is coming to an end, and they do not want to lose him to a free agency.
In the next several weeks, Chelsea should ideally approve his exit if he fails to agree to a contract renewal with the team. The Spain team thinks the England international would be a perfect fit for Diego Simeone's system, and they have discussed a transfer for him with Chelsea.
