Recent reports indicate that Manchester United had been open to considering a bid from Napoli for Alejandro Garnacho, reflecting a strategic adjustment in their asking price for the talented winger. With the transfer window nearing its close, it appeared that the Red Devils were assessing potential offers for Garnacho, who had garnered significant interest as he evaluated his future with the club.
Despite his evident talent, Garnacho has faced problems in adapting to the formation and style of play under Manchester United’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim. Meanwhile, Napoli, following the sale of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain, expressed a strong interest in Garnacho and had reportedly submitted two bids for the Manchester United winger.
Napoli's President is doubtful about signing Alejandro Garnacho
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio recently shared some insights regarding the ongoing negotiations between Manchester United and Napoli concerning Alejandro Garnacho. It appeared that Manchester United had adjusted their expectations for the young Argentine winger, putting a proactive approach during their meeting on Tuesday. United showed a willingness to accommodate Napoli’s requirements which may be interpreted as they were serious to part ways with Garnacho.
Manchester United were poised to accept an offer from Napoli at a reduced price, having lowered their asking amount from €75m to €65m. While Napoli remained firm at around €50-55 million, the gap between the two clubs had significantly narrowed, making a positive outcome highly probable.
Recent discussions suggest that Napoli might not raise their bid for Garnacho, particularly following a notable comment from club president Aurelio De Laurentiis. When asked by a fan about the potential transfer, De Laurentiis expressed his concerns, questioning who can guarantee that Garnacho will score 20 goals.
‘Who will guarantee me that he’ll score 20 goals?’ said Napoli's President.
Despite the ongoing speculation, it remains uncertain whether Napoli will adjust their offer to satisfy Manchester United's expectations.
