Manchester City's Bernardo Silva expressed his disappointment following the team's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, December 15, in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola's side entered the match seeking to improve their form after securing just one win in their last ten games. They took a positive step forward by taking the lead in the 36th minute with a goal from Josko Gvardiol.

However, after halftime, Manchester United responded strongly, and despite City’s efforts to maintain their advantage, they ultimately faced a setback.

Matheus Nunes tackled Amad Diallo in the box, handing Manchester United a penalty. Bruno Fernandes confidently converted from the spot, equalizing the match in the 88th minute.

Just two minutes later, Diallo rounded Ederson after receiving a long ball from Lisandro Martinez, and tapped it in from a tight angle, completing the comeback.

Bernardo Silva's take on City's performance

In an interview with Sky Sports following their defeat, Silva asserted that Manchester City played with the ineptitude of Under-15s during the final minutes. Pep Guardiola's team has now suffered eight losses in their last 11 games across all competitions. As a result, Manchester City has fallen to fifth place in the Premier League table after 16 matches, now trailing leaders Liverpool who have a game's advantage.

“In the last minutes we played like Under-15s… and you pay the price. We deserved what happened. Stupid decisions, we made. It's the decisions that you make. We have to look at ourselves,” said Bernardo Silva.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City  are going through a tough phase. The Red Devils have made a change by appointing Ruben Amorim as the new manager following the departure of Erik ten Hag at the end of October.
