Hansi Flick acknowledged that he is "not happy" that Barcelona was unable to get Dani Olmo and Pau Victor registered, he nonetheless supported the team in finding a solution quickly.  Due to Barcelona's inability to gather the required funds to re-register the pair before the deadline, both have been taken from La Liga's website after their temporary registrations expired on December 31.

Barcelona has been compelled to appeal to the Spanish Football Federation and is getting ready to face a court once more since league regulations prohibit a player from being re-registered after their original contract ends. However, it hasn't occurred, so when Flick appeared in front of the media today, he was questioned about the status of Olmo and Victor's registrations.

However, he remained silent and only said that he believed the team would find a solution. “I don’t want to speak so much about Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. That’s not my job. I spoke with the president today and I have confidence in the club. They do their job, I do my job,” he said. He did acknowledge, though, that neither he nor the players were pleased with the state of affairs, “Honestly I am not happy about the situation, and players are not either – but it is what it is. We are professionals. The confidence is there. We have to wait for the decision,” he said.

Barcelona confirms everything is 'OK' as of now

To help them in their efforts to sign Olmo and Victor, reports surfaced on Friday that Barcelona may sell center-back Eric Garcia to Girona. However, Flick downplayed the possibility of the defender leaving. “There’s optimism. Not thinking about any scenario other than an OK from the federation. There will be a press conference soon, regardless of whether RFEF’s response is positive/negative. All documents are in order & have been sent.” The club gave a statement.

Although the registration controversy has overshadowed Barcelona's return to action, they will play Barbastro in their first Copa del Rey match of the season. Because Barcelona apparently couldn't get their books in order before the deadline, La Liga has unregistered Olmo and Victor thus far.
