Yves Bissouma made sure in the opening half of Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League match against Everton that he has moved past his previous off-field transgressions. The midfield player did not play in the first leg of the match against Leicester City because of a punishment imposed by the club for a footage that went viral on social media that purportedly showed him breathing in illicit nitrous oxide from a balloon.
He was reinstated into the lineup by Postecoglou for this weekend's game, in part due to Rodrigo Bentancur's concussion versus Leicester City. According to the Tottenham Hotspur manager, Bissouma had been "building bridges" in an effort to get his season off to a strong start and get over his ban from the starting line-up.
The player undoubtedly produced a memorable comeback against Sean Dyche's squad on Saturday, giving the home club the lead with a spectacular shot that smacked against the crossbar. He celebrated in front of the crowd before giving Postecoglou a heartfelt hug on the sidelines, clearly appreciative of the manager's choice to include him in the starting lineup once more.
Due to a mistake made by Jordan Pickford, Son Heung-min extended Spurs' lead at the interval. Roman Dixon attempted a throw-in backwards, finding Michael Keane, who chose to throw it towards Pickford. Son won the ball away from the England custodian and put the ball into the net that was vacant after the goalie took a hard touch.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur opening day results!
The Toffees haven't exactly had a strong start to the season; they lack depth in important places and haven't scored in 180 minutes of play. Additionally, Dyche has come under fire for his choice of starting lineup, as Keane was picked ahead of new addition Jake O'Brien despite O'Brien's lacklustre play the previous season.
On the first weekend of the season, Spurs and Leicester tied 1-1. Following the game, manager Ange Postecoglou insisted that his squad display a response.
