Tottenham and West Ham reignited the Premier League with an exciting London derby. Spurs had been on a strong trajectory under Ange Postcoglou, showcasing impressive form. However, they faced a setback against Brighton just before the international break, where they let a two-goal lead slip in the second half.

Having previously secured a win against Spurs last season, a repeat performance was expected from West Ham United to see them move ahead of their rivals.

West Ham United were off to a great Start

Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka worked well together on the right wing, driving the ball towards the penalty area. Although Wan-Bissaka’s shot was deflected, Bowen showcased his persistence by retrieving the ball and maintaining the pressure on the defense.

He expertly pulled the ball back across the box just as Mohammed Kudus made a well-timed run from the left wing. Pedro Porro had been drawn out of position by Tomas Soucek’s movement, leaving Kudus in a prime position to deliver a straightforward shot into the net, capitalizing on the opportunity created.

Tottenham came back even stronger

Tottenham equalised in the 36th minute, with Dejan Kulusevski successfully finding the back of the net.

The team then took the lead in the 52nd minute, thanks to an impressive strike from Yves Bissouma, who delivered a powerful shot that found its mark.

Just three minutes later, Son initiated a dynamic attack from midfield, executing a clever one-two pass with Kulusevski. His one-time shot struck the goalkeeper, then deflected off Jean-Clair Todibo, ultimately finishing in the goal.

Tottenham Hotspur secured a commanding 4-1 victory over West Ham United. Although West Ham started strong and took an early lead, they struggled to maintain their momentum as the match progressed. Unfortunately, their challenges were compounded when Mohammad Kudus, their goalscorer, was sent off with a red card in the 86th minute. This match presents opportunities for West Ham to reflect and grow as they move forward.
