Trent's emotional 'goodbye' to Liverpool fans
Premier League footballer Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to leave his club Liverpool at the end of the season. The talented right-back is anticipated to switch to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The fullback has been very influential during his time with the Reds. He, at times, has been hailed as the best wing-back in the world.
The 26-year-old, who has been with the club since he was six years old, will be out of contract on June 30 and is anticipated to join Real Madrid. Trent Alexander-Arnold is among three top players whose contracts at Anfield expired this summer. While Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have recently signed new deals, Alexander-Arnold is set to depart.
"After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is easily the hardest decision I've ever made in my life. "This club has been my whole life–my whole world-for 20 years," said Alexander-Arnold.
"From the academy right through until now, the support and love I have felt from everyone inside and outside of the club will stay with me forever. I will forever be in debt to you all." He added.

The Liverpool-born defender has been a key contributor since 2016, racking up 352 appearances and scoring 23 goals. He played a key role in securing this season's top-flight title under manager Arne Slot, as well as the UCL victory during Jurgen Klopp's tenure in the 2019-20 season. In addition to all these, he has also acquired the title of the FA Cup.
"Obviously, there's been a lot of noise around what the decision was going to be and how that was going to look," said Alexander-Arnold.
"I know a lot of people will say I should have said sooner, a lot of people will say maybe I waited for the right time. But I felt personally the focus should always be on the pitch, should always be about the football," he added.
The contracts of Salah, Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold had been a hot topic of discussion during Slot's first season. Salah confirmed his commitment to the team by signing a new two-year deal in April, and Van Dijk agreed to similar terms the following week. Unfortunately, Trent made up his mind to move away from Anfield.
"Now that we've won the league and we've been able to celebrate it and celebrate such an amazing achievement, I felt like now is the right time to get it off my chest and tell the fans the truth, and now is that time," Trent concluded.
