WATCH: Stunning overhead kick gives Ipswich Town the lead against Tottenham

As Ipswich Town scored and Tottenham Hotspur's striker Dominic Solanke had to deal with an injury earlier, it was a horrible moment for the team. Szmodics had time to put an overhead attempt towards the bottom right corner since Brennan Johnson didn't challenge for a header. It was a great effort and the Tottenham goalkeeper did not have a chance to stop it as well.

After Tottenham Hotspur failed to capitalize on a break at one end, Ipswich Town scored a second goal. The visitors then swept up the other end, where Vicario palmed away a low cross from Sammie Szmodics against Radu Dragusin, and it drifted back towards the line, where Liam Delap slammed it in into the net.

How have Tottenham Hotspur played so far this season?

During the English Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur returned to the pitch on Sunday afternoon as they hosted Ipswich Town. Ange Postecoglou announced seven changes in the starting lineup that defeated Aston Villa 4-1 the weekend before, and Spurs returned from Istanbul early on Friday morning after losing 3-2 at Galatasaray in the UEFA Europa League in Turkey.

If Tottenham Hotspur could defeat Ipswich Town, who are currently without a victory and are coached by former Spurs youth player Kieran McKenna, they would have the opportunity to move towards third place in the Premier League standings prior to Chelsea and Arsenal competing later in the day. 

The encounter on Sunday will also be Ipswich Town's third consecutive journey to London. In their previous two failed trips to the English city, they have given up four goals to Brentford and West Ham United, but they haven't allowed more than four goals over three consecutive away top-flight games since 1964.

Their last competitive match was back in the 2001–02 season; Tottenham easily defeated them in a 3-0 friendly victory in the summer of 2020. The Suffolk team also has a better head-to-head record, having defeated Spurs in all of their last three fixtures in the Premier League.
