Brentford is expecting to accept £45 million for the wanted striker, Ivan Toney, and is eager to finalize the deal by the weekend. Although it seems unlikely that the England striker will start for the Bees again, reports suggest that Chelsea may still be persuaded to make a late move for him.

The striker was not included in Brentford's lineup for their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday. The striker was left out because, according to manager Thomas Frank, there was excessive transfer activity surrounding him.

Initially, the Bees valued Ivan Toney at approximately £70 million, but they are willing to reduce the asking price down to as low as £45 million. This coincides with reports that Premier League teams' desire in the 28-year-old is decreasing. The forward has been linked to Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle, Manchester United, and Chelsea. But based on a source familiar to the team, Chelsea is the only team still in the hunt.

According to reports, an England star is requesting a £17 million annual pay, or almost £325,000 each week. Ivan Toney had 20 Premier League goals in the previous season, but he missed the most of the previous one because of an eight-month suspension for breaking betting regulations.

What is the other offer that Brentford have received for Ivan Toney?

It is believed that he would rather stay in England, and he has publicly expressed to people close to him that he believes his finest years are still ahead of him. Even though relocating to Saudi Arabia might transform his financial situation, a last-minute offer from Chelsea might convince him not to go.

Al-Ahli, belonging to the Saudi Pro League, is believed to be considering raising their offer for Toney after their initial proposal of about £35 million was turned down. Brentford might lose Toney for free in a year if they are unable to move him prior to the transfer window closing on August 30.
