The 2023/24 season has been an exciting one, especially in England. Manchester City won the league once again for the fourth consecutive time achieving a record for being the first club to do so. That showed their dominance under Pep Guardiola as it was their 6th title in seven years. The Sky Blues after winning the silverware played in the final of the FA Cup, where they hosted Manchester United at the iconic Wembley Stadium.

The Red Devils season had been poor as they finished 8th in the league table. The game started well as both sides tried creating chances with City having more ball position and Man U soaking in the pressure with the compact defence. They tried breaking on the long ball and counter but the reigning champions settled well at the back.

But after soaking the pressure it was an easy ball which was tracked by Alejandro Garnacho and a miss communication by Josko Guardiola with goalkeeper Stefan Ortega led to a miscued head going over the keeper that helped the Argentine winger to score in the empty net.

Man U looked good in the middle of the park and the long balls over the high defence line worked off for the Red Devils, as an amazing diagonal ball from Marcus Rashford towards Garnacho in the other end as the winger set up the ball to Bruno Fernandes, whose miskicked ball ended up to Kobbie Mainoo scoring the 2nd for the game.

United do the impossible

The second half began the same way as United kept their low block and compact defence as City played the game in their half. But the one final pass was missing from the side and Man U broke into the counter. City kept on piling the pressure Erling Haaland who was silent in the first half striked one ball that struck the bar.

Julian Alvarez got the chance to reduce the lead but he failed to put it past Andre Onana, who previously saved a brilliant shot from Kyle Walker in the game. Jeremy Doku pulled one back for the side but it was not enough to restrict United as they won the game 2-1.
