Serena Williams' heartfelt hug to rival player

Former 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams bleeds blue by heart. An ardent Chelsea fan, she celebrated Chelsea FC's recent victory over Manchester United.

The Chelsea Blues secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final, powered by a brace from Sandy Ballesteros and a goal from Catarina Macario. This triumph allowed them to complete the domestic treble, having already claimed the Women’s Super League (WSL) title and the Women’s League Cup. What made this win even more remarkable was that it occurred during the debut season of manager Sonia Bompastor, who stepped into the role after the departure of the legendary Emma Hayes.

Following the conclusion of the match, which ended in a 3-0 thrashing for Manchester United, Red Devils keeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce broke down in tears. Serena Williams went on to comfort the goalkeeper with a big hug. She shared the moment on her social media, which quickly went viral.

wear Chelsea blue but pro-woman on my heart. Any colour goes. #womensport.” Serena wrote on X.

The win was emphatic, not only in the sense that Serena's favourite team won the fixture but also because Chelsea happens to be the team where her husband owns a stake, specifically in the women's team.
