Barcelona had the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Laliga standings after Real Madrid bottled their future against Valencia 1-2. However, the Catalan giants were just as ineffective against Real Betis and came out with just one point after a 1-1 stalemate.

Barcelona's skipper, Raphinha, was rested in the first half in sight of the important UEFA Champions League fixture that is due in some days. However, Hansi Flick decided to give Raphinha some playtime in the second half, but the Brazilian failed to do much on the pitch.

Following the conclusion of the match, Raphina was visibly agitated at one of the referees, Gil Manzano. Hansi Flick tried to calm down the team skipper who appeared enraged. Raphinha even pushed Barcelona's injured goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter-Stegen who tried to calm him down. Raphinha was also spotted arguing with Catalan's veteran striker Robert Lewandowski before leaving the pitch.

Earlier, Gavi handed Barcelona a quick lead in the 6th minute but Real Betis equalised in a matter of 10 minutes as Natalan connected a bullet header of a corner.

Barcelona will next face Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the quarter-finals of UEFA Champions League 2025. Barcelona continues to lead the Laliga standings with 67 points after matchday 30.
