Liverpool are looking to acquire a new centre-back during the next summer transfer window. The club is likely to undergo a rebuilding process, and manager Arne Slot may implement necessary changes to the squad next season.

Injury-prone defender Joe Gomez is the one who is tipped to be sold in the summer transfer window. On a more positive note, Ibrahima Konate has been consistent with his performances throughout the season. However, with his contract at Anfield still unsigned, there are concerns about his future, particularly with interest from Real Madrid.

With only a few months remaining on his contract, the Reds' captain, Virgil Van Dijk, could depart without a transfer fee. Although manager Slot wishes for him to prolong his stay, the defender is yet to give a nod to the Reds and his future may be determined by the end of the season.

It has become increasingly necessary for Liverpool to acquire a new centre-back, and they are reportedly interested in bringing Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck to the club in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year defender looks set to leave the German club and Liverpool appears highly motivated to sign him. He is contracted with Dortmund until 2027 and the Reds are ready to pay £50 million to bring him on board in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool is also interested in signing Bournemouth's defender Dean Huijsen, for another £50 million.

In addition to bolstering their central defence, Liverpool is also aiming to strengthen their squad with a new left-back. The Reds have been connected with a potential move for Milos Kerkez of Cherries.
