Omar Marmoush UEFA Europa League

The UEFA Europa League match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Slavia Prague took place inside the Deutsche-Bank Park on a chilly autumn evening in the Hessen state. The home team won 1-0 courtesy to a fantastic free kick from Omar Marmoush.

When Tomas Holeš headed over the bar after Christos Zafeiris' corner, the visitors created a good impression. Omar Marmoush was the first player to challenge the goalkeeper, drawing a good stop from Anton Kinsky. The rookie goalkeeper's misdirected ball to Dahoud nearly cost Slavia dearly. As the German shot passed over, a breath of relief was released.

Halfway through the half, Dino Toppmöller made a slightly frustrated figure as the Czechia side kept up their threat. Die Adler continued to have the best of the chances when Ansgar Knauff scored in the 32nd minute. Marmoush shot wide on the rebound, but Kinsky was there just in time to block the one-on-one. Before the half, there was ample time for one last attempt on goal, but Tuta's feeble header actually didn't cause Kinsky any trouble.

Omar Marmoush nets once again for Eintracht Frankfurt

It took Eintracht Frankfurt eight minutes in the second half to score the first goal, and this season, nobody is more qualified for that role than Omar Marmoush. Kinsky was frozen to the spot as the Egyptian curled the football from right to left from a central freekick barely outside the 18-yard area, kissing the crossbar en route to the net. Igor Matanović had a run out, and Can Uzun's evening ended on the hour.

With one quarter remaining, Lukas Provod was substituted by Ondrej Lingr, whose first touch nearly brought the score back to even. A set-piece nestled in Kevin Trapp's belly and nodded goalward. Amenda and Skhiri's arrival refilled Toppmöller's weary side. Late in the game, Frankfurt's captain saved the day once more by deflecting Jurasek's low shot with a left boot. Kinsky would preserve the visitors' deficit to one, even if Hugo Ekitiké may have finished it late.
