The Premier League returned with a much-anticipated match this weekend, between Newcastle United and Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Manchester City, sitting in fifth place in the Premier League standings, had been underwhelming this season, far from their usual dominance. In contrast, Newcastle United, positioned in sixth, had shown remarkable form in recent months and were ready to take on the hosts.

Marmoush's hat-trick steals the show

Manchester City dictated the pace of the game right from the start. In the 19th minute, Manchester City established an early advantage with a goal from their new signing, Marmoush. Ederson executed a 60-yard launch, which Marmoush controlled before outmanoeuvring Trippier and deftly chipping the ball over Dubravka into the net.

Just six minutes later, in the 25th minute, Manchester City extended their lead with a well-coordinated play. Gundogan delivered a precise pass to the forward, who capitalized on the opportunity by striking the ball into the bottom corner with precision.

In the 33rd minute, Manchester City extended their lead with a brilliant link-up play. The Egyptian star scored his first career hat-trick in the first half. Savinho used his exceptional speed as he outpaced Hall along the wing and delivered a precise cross to Marmoush, who finished the play to complete his third goal. Manchester City enjoyed a well-deserved 3-0 lead heading towards half-time and looked set to amass all three points in this home fixture.
