Late on Tuesday, a couple of the Spanish national team's top players made the move to give their young comrade Lamine Yamal a lot of praise. Naturally, this is in response to the FC Barcelona star's Man of the Match performance against France. Spain would now play in the final of the UEFA Euro 2024 on 14th July.
Lamine continued to shine after being granted a starting position for Spain's match against Les Bleus in the Euro 2024 semi-final. Along the way to winning Man of the Match, the winger also tied for Goal of the Tournament and lit up the right flank with his touch, pace, flawless control, and final product.
Since Lamine is still only 16 years old, it should not be shocking to learn that she received a ton of acclaim after the game. And his international teammates have been front and center in this regard. To start, Nico Williams shared a picture of himself and Lamine on his personal Instagram account, along with the message, saying “My Brother MVP”
Later on, in a video Nico Williams revealed what he had mentioned to Yamal prior to the game against France in the UEFA Euro 2024. He said, "I told him (Yamal) before the game that's it's your day to score a goal, maybe not my day, but better... My brother scored!"
Spain superstars praise Lamine Yamal’s sensational performance
The FC Barcelona winger's heroics were later praised by Manchester City star Rodri, who told the media that, “I am very proud of Lamine. People are going to talk about the goal, and the stellar performance of this 16-year-old boy. The future that awaits him is impressive, but I congratulated him for his commitment defensively. His game was so complete.”
Marc Cucurella quickly followed after and added that, “I have no words to describe Lamine. His talent is amazing despite his young age. If he continues like this, he will become one of the best players in the world.”
