Mohamed Salah has expressed his disappointment over Liverpool's failure to extend his contract, indicating that he feels more likely to leave than to stay beyond the current season.
This uncertainty surrounding Salah's future stands out as one of the few concerns in what has otherwise been a stellar start under Arne Slot. His team currently sits eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, boasting an impressive record of 10 wins in 12 league matches.
Salah yet to receive an extension offer
Salah's recent comments have sparked concern among Liverpool supporters regarding his future with the club, especially with his contract set to expire this summer. He mentioned that, as of December, he has yet to receive any offers to extend his stay.
“Well, we are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club, I’m probably more out than in." Salah said. Salah emphasized his long-standing commitment to the club, expressing that there is no place quite like Liverpool. However, he also noted that the decision ultimately lies beyond his control.
“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.” Salah added.
The club has two choices.

1. Give Salah what he deserves.
2. Feel the anger of supporters.

While he hasn't discussed the absence of an offer with the club, Salah remains focused on his performance and the current season. He is dedicated to achieving success in the Premier League and aims to make a strong run in the Champions League as well.
“Of course, yeah. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.” he concluded. Liverpool is confident about the current situation, having engaged in productive discussions with Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa. They are fully aware that any extension for their highest-paid player, who earns a baseline salary of £350,000 a week, is not likely to be resolved quickly.
The Egypt international is now just five weeks away from being able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club. There have been strong links to a highly lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia in the past.
