Mohamed Salah vs Brighton

Liverpool had to work hard to overcome a goal behind in order to defeat Brighton and move up to the top spot of the English Premier League by two points. Cody Gakpo had wiped out The Seagulls' first goal, but Mo Salah saved the day by hitting the decisive goal for Arne Slot's team. Saturday was a good afternoon for Liverpool's title ambitions when rivals Manchester City as well as Arsenal both lost.

Liverpool overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Brighton, thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah. Ferdi Kadıoglu's outstanding goal gave the Seagulls the lead, and they were the superior team in the first half. Caoimhin Kelleher denied Georginio Rutter when he was through on goal, while Bart Verbruggen made excellent saves against Darwin Nunez as well as Alexis Mac Allister to prevent the final score from being added until halfway through the second half.

Cody Gakpo's cross eluded the center and found its way into the far corner in the 70th minute, giving Liverpool the equalizer. However, two minutes later, Salah scored an unstoppable winner with a classic effort that cut in from the right. With the victory and Manchester City's defeat at Bournemouth, Liverpool leads the standings by two points, while Brighton is in seventh place.

Liverpool lead the league under Arne Slot

Many assumed that Liverpool would enter a transitional phase following Jurgen Klopp's protracted exit from Anfield, with Arne Slot's job being compared to that of Manchester United managers following Sirs Matt Busby and Alex Ferguson. The current period is probably going to continue until Salah departs Liverpool, whoever is in charge, much as Liverpool's heyday in the late 1970s and early 1980s passed through four managers.

Salah, who is 32 years old and has a contract that expires in the summer, is in a strong position to demand that he be paid at least as much as any other player in the English Premier League for the next two seasons in order to prevent him from declining the financial offer of competing in Saudi Arabia.
