Anders Lindegaard wants Andre Onana to improve
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has called upon Andre Onana to put in better efforts. While speaking to the SUN, Lindegaard said, “Onana has comeback from a difficult start and now he is doing a lot better.”
The former United star also said “That is the job, the job is to handle the pressure. If you can’t do it or won’t do it, the job isn’t for you”. Andre Onana will be back in action for United away against Southampton in the early kick off on Saturday.
Meanwhile Matthijs De Ligt was taken off during half-time by Dutch coach Ronald Koeman during the friendly against Germany. Nathan Ake was taken off the park injured in the same game after the 29-year-old fell down on the floor.
Ronald Koeman while speaking to the media said, “It just looks like he is now in a period where all his mistakes are being punished. I gave him a new chance today, but eventually protected him by taking him off. Of course, I would rather have kept Matthijs on the pitch.”
The Dutch coach also mentioned, "He himself realises that he was in the wrong position. This should not happen, but mistakes are part of football. I think it is unfair to make a big deal out of it.”
