Nathan Ake, the defender for the Netherlands, had to be taken off the pitch during their UEFA Nations League match against Germany due to a non-contact injury. While being carried to the ground by Germany custodian Marc-Andre ter Stegen and his Dutch colleague Cody Gakpo, Ake appeared to be in excruciating pain.

Near the conclusion of the first half, Ake was taken off the pitch on a stretcher by the Netherlands' medical personnel, who had been called onto the pitch right away. Although the exact cause of Ake's injury is unknown, it casts doubt on his readiness for Saturday's Premier League match between Manchester City and Brentford.

Due to hamstring ailments, Ake has missed more than 30 games since joining City in August 2020. After Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard needed assistance leaving the pitch during Norway's 2-1 victory over Austria on Monday, Ake is the most well-known player from the English top division to have an injury during the international break.

Odegaard was writhing on the ground in excruciating pain, seeming to have sprained his left ankle during a challenge. Norway head coach spoke to the media after the game and gave an update on his injury, which looked serious from the outset. He said, “Martin Odegaard's injury looked bad in the dressing room as well".

Norway’s team doctor also commented on the midfielder’s injury as he said, "He got a small ankle sprain. We will see, maybe we use ultrasound to look at it. If we are unsure, there will be an MRI tomorrow."

Later on, in a concerning development for Arsenal while they anxiously await the outcome of his tests to ascertain the extent of his injury, Alexis was spotted boarding an aircraft on crutches. Another player who came back to the club in less good shape than when he left was Riccardo Calafiori, a summer signing for the Gunners, who sustained an odd injury in Italy's 3-1 victory against France.
