Superstitions are part and parcel of matchday preparations for many footballers. Brazilian goalkeeping sensation Ederson recently shared details about his unusual superstition.
Since joining Manchester City from Benfica in 2017, the goalkeeper has celebrated every major trophy with the club, and he attributes part of his success to a quirky ritual, which he has maintained throughout the last eight seasons.

Ederson Moraes reveals his strange superstition
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Ederson Moraes revealed that he has been wearing the same boxers on every match day during the last eight seasons. He further added that the boxers were not in the best shape yet he continued using them.
"I have only one superstition. I play every game in the same boxers. Eight years the same boxers." Ederson burst into laughter.
The current season has not been the best for the Brazilian goalkeeper. He has not even been a glimmer of what he used to be during his first eight seasons at the Etihad. Head Coach Pep Guardiola often substitutes him with Stefan Ortega during big fixtures, which is a clear indication that the management has lost their faith in the established goalkeeper. The 31-year-old is speculated to leave the Citizens in the next transfer window as City has their sights set on Portuguese talent Diogo Costa.
Since joining Manchester City, Ederson Moraes has made 269 appearances for the side across club competitions. In addition, he has also represented Brazil in 29 fixtures. He won his first Golden Glove in the Premier League in the 2019-20 season with 16 clean sheets. He won his second consecutive Golden Glove in the 2020-21 season with 20 clean sheets. In the current season, Ederson has amassed 6 clean sheets in 20 matches.
