Lionel Messi left Barcelona in 2019 after spending almost two decades with the Catalan club. He remains the all-time highest goal scorer for Barcelona, having netted 672 goals in 728 appearances across club competitions. He has also won all the major club trophies, including the UEFA Champions League, four times. In 2019, Messi left Barcelona and moved to Ligue One club Paris Saint-Germain. Messi may feel quite embarrassed once he discovers the jersey he stepped on while entering the pitch through the team tunnel. The 37-year-old has openly expressed that Barcelona continues to hold a special place in his heart, and he looks forward to returning to Catalunya with his family once his time at Inter Miami concludes.
Inter-Miami currently sits at the top of the Major League Soccer standings with 10 points in four matches. The Herons will return to the pitch on March 22nd when Javier Mascherano's side will clash against second-placed Philadelphia at Chase Stadium.
