An AI video featuring football icons and prominent celebrities at the Mahakumbh has generated a lot of buzz online, attracting some of the world’s leading business and political figures to Prayagraj.
The Mahakumbh Mela, recognised as the world’s largest religious festival, officially commenced in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on January 13. While several Indian celebrities and politicians were set to make appearances during the 45-day festival, the presence of international figures has been limited. Notably, Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs, participated in rituals at the Mahakumbh earlier this week.
Footballing Legends at Mahakumbh

An AI-generated video featuring international icons at the Mahakumbh Mela is making huge waves online.
The video shows renowned footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi immersing themselves in the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.
World leaders such as Donald Trump, Rishi Sunak, and Vladimir Putin were featured in an AI-generated video. The application of generative AI also showcased Hollywood stars, including Will Smith, Zendaya, and Tom Holland, at the Mahakumbh festival.

In addition, the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, was depicted taking a dip in the Sangam in the same AI video.
The video, posted on the Instagram account Artificial Budhi, went viral, amassing 5.7 million views within days. Viewers in the comments were not only praising its realistic appearance but were also raising true concerns regarding its ethical implications.
Both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are enjoying the twilight years of their careers at Inter Miami and Al-Nassr, respectively. Both the legends are expected to continue gracing the sport until the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
