Kevin De Bruyne saves Manchester City once again
The 33-year-old will be leaving after his contract with the club expires this summer. In his penultimate game at the Etihad, he once again proved he had been a club hero all this time.
Kevin De Bruyne scored the sole goal in Manchester City's 1-0 Premier League win over a strong Wolves side, a victory that could secure their spot in the UEFA Champions League for the upcoming season. After the match, the midfielder expressed astonishment at not receiving a new contract offer last month and seemed to prove his abilities on the pitch.
"I don't know about the future; unfortunately, I have shown I can still play here; otherwise, I wouldn't do what I do these last four or five weeks." Kevin said.
"A lot of teammates have spoken to me; they are sad also that I have to go. It goes like this in life, but the way I am performing is the way I should be. I just try to play as well as I can. I have one game left here. I try to do my job as always and I did that. I am proud of what I am doing." Kevin added.
The victory propelled Manchester City to the third position in the Premier League standings with 64 points. The top five clubs at the end of the season qualify for the next session of UCL. Manchester City will have to continue their winning momentum if they are to consolidate their UCL qualification. Newcastle,Β Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are all in contention for UCL spots, with only 2 points separating the sides.
